SHAFTS
Graham Miniature Horse cart shafts are designed to be extremely durable, prudently flexible, and provide for a wide variety of hookups with various harnesses. They are adjustable for horses measuring from 28" to 40". The adjustment procedure is very quick and requires no tools. Pony shafts are built along similar lines. These shafts feature a much stronger connection to the cart due to the larger animals involved and are adjustable to ponies measuring from 10 to 14 hands.
BRAKES
While brake systems are common on large horse carts and carriages, they are quite uncommon on miniature and pony rigs. The usual response from our customers is that they would never go back to a cart without brakes. Graham Carriage Works uses a foot-operated system. Brakes can be used as a training aid, to calm a startled horse, and to solve inertia problems when traversing steep downgrades. Our system also allows you to lock and to unlock the brakes.
COMFORT
Graham Carriages are the most comfortable rigs in the market for several reasons. Leg room is plentiful in either the mini or the pony cart. The movable seat can be adjusted for balance with people of varying weights. Additionally, the handmade seat features a 4" dense foam bottom and a 2" dense foam backrest that is full and a lot like sitting in an easy chair. Deep, marbled burgundy-colored marine-grade vinyl is the covering.
Other reasons for our carts' astounding comfort have to do with properly built
wheels. When a wheel is built correctly, it is capable of dampening a great
deal of the perceived shock that the cart may encounter. We build each spoked
wheel from the hub shell up, using the best components available.

We build all of our frames to have a prudent amount of flexibility to further smooth the ride, while at all times keeping an eye out for breakage due to metal fatigue.
For further comfort, we can build additional active suspension systems into the
frame design. This is especially of interest to individuals with back and neck
problems.
Lastly, an added measure of comfort is achieved due to the remarkable safety
record of our products. None of our carts has ever broken or tipped over. Every
aspect of our carts is overbuilt, down to the smallest detail. It is this
attention to detail and safety that will keep a Graham Carriage on the road and
trail for generations to come.
