Alan P. Scott - Verses

Willows fade into the
yellow sky as winter oozes
from under my refrigerator door.
Brown leaves cut my chest,
slice my mouth and ears
like a lover's kiss, cold
as the foam my mother brushed
from the muzzle of my old dog Blue.
