image #1 The single color image is separated into three--one red, one green and one blue. It is then reassembled into a single image with the red, green and blue components sitting in close proximity. Hopefully, the eye mixes them into an approximation of the original image. | ![]()
image #2 The goal here is to try to reconstruct the image for rapid download and display, notice the difference in file size, even though both images are both 300 X 248 pixels. The image on the left should download faster because it is essentially made up of horizontal lines. Constructing GIF images using horizontal lines or blocks of solid color (posterized) is a good idea. |
