Mark made this sculpture using rusty barbwire and old bridle parts.. Even though the subject is obviously of interest only to a young man, Mom loves the sculpture. As you can see, this was during his "long hair" days. Mom kept telling him that she would give him the money for a haircut (that's a mom thing you know). Just after Christmas that year, he got into her car wearing a peacap and asked if she would still pay for a haircut......he had shaved his head! (Click here for full photo.) |
Mark is about to embark on one of his favorite adventures.......skydiving! Mark made his first accelerated free fall parachute jump on August 12, 1995 (just two weeks before his 24th birthday). (Click here for full photo.) |
Well.....there he goes, right in the middle and on his way. (Click here for full photo.) |
Safely back on the ground! Now he can say, "Been there, done that, got the shirt." And....he went back again....and again.....and again. He highly recommended it for everyone. (And if that's not enough, he also was a bungee jumper!) (Click here for full photo.) |
This is Mark with his favorite lady during Christmas week of 1996. Koko was rescued from the animal shelter and joined our family on November 7, 1992. She and Mark bonded with each other within seconds of meeting. If we mentioned "Marcus," she would run to the door and start looking for him. He rode a motorcycle for several years and she was always watching motorcycles looking for him. When he came in the door, he had to give her attention immediately or she was broken-hearted. One night she even left the warm, comfy house, squeezed out of her kennel and ran away from home in the middle of the night and went to Mark's apartment and was waiting for him at his front door the next morning!
