In a classic demonstration a rifle is held level and aimed at a suspended object, traditionally a stuffed monkey, as the target. If the rifle is rigged to shoot at the moment the target is released a hit is guaranteed regardless of the speed with which the bullet flies. Since 3D Mechanics allows us to attach our viewpoint to any mass, we can view these events not only from a stationary reference frame but also from the speeding bullet. The figures on the left show views from the stationary frame and those on the right are taken from the vantage point of the bullet. In the latter pictures it is clear that we are assured of scoring a hit.
