With so many things to remember in looking for a cart, a person can go crazy! Here are some very practical considerations to keep you and your horse sane and comfortable at the same time.
Perhaps the most important aspect of your purchase. Is the cart constructed in a manner which will last the lifetime of your horse? Does your cart allow for improvements or accessories?
Are the shafts strong enough to go over rough terrain and train a green horse without breaking? Comfort. Does the cart allowing enough leg room and back support that you can drive for several hours at one time in absolute comfort? How about comfort to your horse? Is the cart perfectly balanced to any rider so as to allow optimum performance of your horse? I have driven for many years both full size and miniature horses and have used all types of carts available...training cart, Easy Entry, Jerald show cart, Viceroy but most recently a cart by Graham Carriage Works. After testing all these carts, I have come to realize the importance of the issues stated above.
As I was introduced to the Graham cart with high tech qualities, state of the art construction, assessories and comfort I never thought possible. One of the most unique features of the Graham Carriage Works cart is the foot operated braking system. Utilizing the very best brakes available. I have used the brakes to slow down a novice horse that starts to panic, avoiding dangerous accidents, and to increase the muscle development, condition and stamina by "riding" the brakes with half pressure. The Graham cart has unequivocal balance, meaning there is no pressure on the horse, upward or downward with the adjustable back supported seat. With the flip of a lever a person of any weight can have perfect balance. My pleasure drives are now more pleasurable... and so is training.

As harness racing is in the near future for Oregon, I look forward to training and conditioning my trotters using the Graham cart. With perfect balance and resistance, I intend to be "The leader of the Pack"...so to speak, because of a better conditioned horse with tremendous strength! Whether training, conditioning or for pleasure the Graham cart has surpassed all my expectations, and those of others who have used this cart. With competition getting so extremely advance, owners need to use efficient, humane and sophisticated ways of allowing a horse to be in optimum condition.
See you at the finish line!
