student work

The Clark County Historical Museum is pleased to provide this page as a venue to showcase student work related to the cultural history of Clark County and the Pacific Northwest. We believe it is truly encouraging to see directly the quality of work that students can produce. Of course, special thanks are due those who have the courage to so publicly share their work!

High School Yearbooks Project

Ryan Schafte, class of 2009, scanned copies of several Washougal High School yearbooks as part of his Senior Project. His project digitized and thereby preserved deteriorating yearbooks for 1915, 1916 and 1943. Ryan was interested in a World War theme and explored through the yearbooks what life was like before we entered World War I and, later, during World War II. Four PDF files comprise Ryan’s work on this project:

Introduction to the Yearbooks Project
1915 Yearbook
1916 Yearbook
1943 Yearbook

Please note that the Yearbook files are large and may take several minutes to download.
