(The Jungle Paradise of El Hefe)

El Hefe Military Information and Sales Center

The following vehicles are the standard models in use by the nation of El Hefe. Many are also avaliable for sale to friendly nations while certain craft, notablely the landships, are only avaliable to nations approved for sale by the nations of Treznor and El Hefe. Each vehicle has statistics for use in comparison to other vehicles as well as a description of their capabilities.

For nations interested in direct sales there is a standard arrangement that can be used by default or a contract can be written up in cooperation with the El Hefe Ministry of Trade. Small price items must be bought in batches of 50 or more, and no reverse engineering of systems is allowed. El Hefe does not sell licenses to produce their equipment and technology except in extremely rare instances.

Some clarification has been looked for as to the relationship between landships and gravships. Landships are the very first steps along the path to creating full gravships. They are slower and have a limited flight ceiling (1000ft) and have poor acceleration compared to gravships. They are generally also armed with 21st century weapon systems - naval cannon, missile launchers, and the like. They do not mount lasers, particle cannon, or similar due to power constrains and limited reliability - a must for military hardware.

El Hefe Military Personnel

El Hefe Infantry Soldier

Ultimately every military must rely on the average foot soldier for many tasks. Patrols of urban areas, taking and holding ground, and protecting armored vehicles from attacks by other foot soldiers are all impossible without these highly trained and well equipped soldiers. El Hefe soldier training revolves around jungle, urban, and mechanized infantry operations. Training takes 2 years and soldiers then spend at least 2 more years in operational deployment - with mandatory military service there are a lot of well trained veterans amoung the civilian population.

El Hefe Ground Vehicles

Pantera-VI Hover Tank

With the refinement of the cold fusion technology provided by the Empire of Treznor El Hefe has been able to design and build their first small scale vehicle based on their own hover field technology - the Pantera-VI tank. Heavily armed, highly mobile, and extensively automated the Pantera-VI is designed to be a definate threat on the post-modern battlefield. The Pantera-VI is not expected to fully replace the Pantera-V - they are being deployed into divisions as heavy armor platoons to act as the spearhead for any armored attack or as a rapid reaction force when involved in a defensive action.

Soldado Light Personnel Transport (Jeep)

The Soldado is an El Hefe-manufactured all-terrain vehicle that has been upgraded to military standards. It is smaller than many similar transports - only seating two in the front seats and four in the back. This lack of seating makes it smaller and more manuverable however, and with four wheel drive and turning it is a very nimble vehicle. The military version comes as either an open topped door-less version as seen here, or as a hard topped version with a covered bed with a hatch for the gunner. Both versions can be equipped with either the missile launcher shown, a heavy machine gun, a light chain gun, or an automatic grenade launcher. The military version also comes with a protected air intake allowing the Soldado to cross up to 4 feet of water. A fully amphibious version is also being designed.

Francotirador Self-Propelled Artillery

This self-propelled artillery piece is designed for quick setup and fire versus fixed positions or counter-battery action. The system is fully automated - the driver and gunner essentially monitor the operation. The artillery is spotted by forward observers and called in automatically from the closest unit. The double barrels allow for use of specialized penetrators followed by high-explosive rounds or other combinations of rounds to accomplish maximum effect in a minimum amount of time. When driven at a slow speed the weapon is capable of firing on the move. The cannon can be rotated to the rear allowing the weapons to be fired while withdrawing.

Vichama Assault Armor

The assault armor is a bipedal replacement for the tank in certain situations. It excels at urban warfare where it's good mobility allows it to quickly flank slower and less mobile tanks. The arms are modular - they can mount a light rotary cannon, a medium cannon, or a pair of chained 40mm grenade launchers. They are not recommended for open warfare as their height, an asset in city warfare, is not one in open terrain. The units are manufactured using new enhanced cold fusion technology from the nation of Treznor.

El Hefe Aircraft

Libélula Attack Mesh-Rotor

The Libélula is the main mobile striking power of the El Hefe military. In places where tanks cannot go or would simply take too long the Libélula excels. It's twin rotors ensure excellent survivability - if one is knocked out the helicopter can often stay airborne for several minutes looking for a landing spot. It also carries it's main weapons in sliding bays - allowing the explosives to stay safely under armor until needed. As with most modern helicopters it has a pilot and a gunner. The gunner sits above and behind the pilot for the best field of vision. They also have access to a camera mounted on the rear chaingun for an extended field of vision.

Mosquito Scout Mesh-Rotor

The primary mission of the Mosquito is as a scout and intelligence platform. It's fast, smaller than the Libélula, and much more manuverable. Thanks to the slide-away missile systems it can perform admirably as a light attack helicopter as well - many of El Hefe's more experienced pilots prefer the agile Mosquito to the relatively lumbering Libélula for hit and run attack missiles or strikes behind enemy lines.

Chuchicheo Variable Fighter/Helicopter

The Chuchicheo is the middle ground between El Hefe's heavily armed and slower Libélula Mesh Rotors and the faster but lightly armed Relámpago Fighter. It fills many of the same roles as the Mosquito but carries less ordinance and is faster when in the fighter mode. When in the fighter mode the Chuchicheo is actually slightly faster than the Relámpago, but it is less manuverable than the Mosquito. It's small profile and VTOL capabilities as well as seating for two make it a good choice for a special operations transport. In keeping with it's inspiration it is capable of remote flight via a radio link.

El Hefe Landships

Illapa Class Landship

The Illapa Class Landship is designed to fill the role of the fast moving gunship - quick strike-and-fade actions against targets to draw out opposing troops or to destroy small units cut off from the main army. Thus it is designed around a large variety of medium weapons with only two large weapons - the medium weapons are ideal for destroying light armored vehicles while the heavy guns can be used to hold off larger opponents while the Illapa disengages. The Illapa is also the fastest of the landships and has the highest flight ceiling - 1800 feet.

The two heavy guns are 120mm cannon in single turrets on the top and bottom. Arrayed around the top are four 10mm chain guns for both anti-aircraft, anti-missile, and anti-personnel applications. Box launchers along both sides hold 32 80mm on-call missiles each, and there is a pair of forward 40mm grenade launchers for use against medium armored targets or troop concentrations.

These smaller cousins of gravships are manufactured in El Hefe around a cold fusion power plant manufactured in the nation of Treznor under contract with El Hefe. Both nations share in the profits from the program.
The Catequil is a assault cruiser - designed for direct engagement of surface fleets and opposing gravships or landships. Thus they carry a lot of heavy firepower, primarily 6 300mm cannon in three turrets. They also carry cruiser missile launchers, anti-air missile turrets, and a host of additional on-call missile launchers for support of ground operations.

Inti Landship

The Inti is the second largest landship currently manufactured by El Hefe. These monsters are designed for direct engagement of opposing surface fleets or full gravships. They mount an inordinate amount of weaponry compared to their size - one of their prime limitations is a frequent need for reloading.
This is the second revision of the class - the side gun turrets were reduced to a single gun to allow the storage of additional ammunition. This redesign was initiated after the poor performance of the battleships in the North Kieles war due to resupply problems.

Kon Landship

The Kon is now the largest landship in production by the nation of El Hefe. The first of the series was laid down in January of 2036 and is not expected to be completed until 2040. 2 additional ships are planned. The Kon will be a carrier for both mesh-rotors and the Relámpago fighter. It can carry up to 12 mesh-rotors on the deck, and another 24 Relámpago fighters internally (Or 36 Relámpago Multi-Role Fighters with no mesh-rotors). There are two elevators in the center for lifting craft to the flight deck or lowering them for repairs. Rearming is done on the deck - secondary elevators inside the superstructure bring up ordinance. One notable feature is a large central ammunition bay that can be dropped to prevent an explosion - the fuel bays can also be vented to prevent their explosion.

80mm On-Call Missile Launcher
Description: This weapon system is the pride of the El Hefe military. These missile tubes are 'on-call' for infantry with designators to launch at any time. The designator shoots out a laser beam that reads the distance to the target. The unit then calculates the target's coordinates using an on-board compass and GPS unit. That information is relayed over the tactical network to the nearest unit mounting an on-call missile of the appropriate type. The missile is then fired with no input from that vehicle. During the flight time the soldier can either stop targetting, or by keeping the targetting trigger depressed provided updated location information to the incoming missile. The missiles are also avaliable to the crew of the vehicle.

El Hefe Infantry Soldier
Training in El Hefe revolves around Jungle warfare - urban and Amazon. Thus the typical soldier is as at home in the wilderness as he is in the city and able to survive the rigors of both. Training is long (2 years) because of the soldiers nessecarily wide areas of expertise. All legal citizens are required to serve at least 4 years - most choose to serve from 18 to 22 and take advantage of free government education. Recent laws allow soldiers leaving service to keep their service weapon in the hope that this will deter crime.

Equipment: 7.62 Assault Rifle with 200 rounds (5 clips), 10mm Pistol with 40 rounds (4 clips), Combat Knife or Machette, Kevlar Helmet, Hard Armor Vest, Jungle BDU's, Canteen, Insect Proof Sleeping Sleeve, Mess Kit, GPS Unit, Multi-Tool, 4 Grenades, 1 Week's Rations, First Aid Kit, 3 Pair Socks, Jungle Boots, Floppy Hat. 1/3rd of the squad carries an attached 40mm grenade launcher (10 grenades), 1/3rd carries an attached on-call missile designator, and 1/6th carries a Squad Automatic Weapon (7.62mm machine gun).
