Owner of Dal Design, Inc. an engineering consulting company, providing solutions in analog, RF and EMC. Also doing business as DalComm Engineering, specializing in RF telecommunications system design, site planning, radio coverage analysis and interference solutions. September 1999-present. • Engineered an intermod interference solution for the City of Astoria, Oregon, Police VHF voted 3-site system. Subsequently designed in a new base station, duplexer, and antenna, plus two voted receivers. Performed coverage analysis, installation, commissioning and drive testing. • Engineered a UHF mobile data system for the City of Astoria Police Department. Provided preliminary coverage maps. Installed temporary base stations for drive testing. • Provided radio coverage analysis and site surveys for a large Western utility. Project was VHF narrow-banding of system covering multiple states. Ran over 100 studies using TAP. • Engineered two projects for the City of Warrenton, Oregon. VHF conventional simplex dispatch system (Public Works), and a UHF mobile data system (Police), Ran preliminary coverage studies. • Maintained VHF repeaters for Willamette Industries North Coast Tree Farm. • .Consulting in the area of electromagnetic compatibility, i.e. conducted and radiated emissions from Part 15 electronic products. • Performed adjacent-channel rejection testing on base stations and mobiles to support a 220MHz proposal for a Western utility • Provided tower and construction estimates for a proposed microwave system in Hawaii.
