Doobie's Fell Poetry Corner
  I'm a U.S.-bred Fell Pony
And I don't mean to boast
But I was born on Flag Day
I'm the first on the West Coast.

They say my aunts are regal
They're ponies of the Queen
I wish I could wear a tiara
But a halter's all I've seen

My mum is Midnightvalley Poppy
She was always good to me
To far-off Virginia she's moving
"Miss you, Mum," I will whinny
Midsummers Night's my daddy
I haven't met him yet
He and Mum had a long distance romance
With "A.I.", that's all you get

I've had a lovely summer
I grew and napped and ran
My coat's a winter black now
I've lost my sun-browned tan

I'm too young for words of wisdom
At only five months old
All I know is I'm a Fell Pony
And I'm as good as gold
... Most of the time ...
