MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 15, 2009 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

GENERAL

 

Officers attending: Ed Bailiff, Judd Parks, Fred Elliott, Art Newland, James Newsome and Matt Winit. 21 members attended - the Minutes of the September 2009 meeting were accepted.

 
REPORTS

 

·                                 Art Newland - Treasurer: Reported the financial status of FPM.

 

·                                 James Newsome – Vice President: A new lease for the field has been signed by the port. The port has budgeted for improvement of the street that is the entrance to the field and for removing the dirt pile near the entrance to the field gate. The work has not yet been scheduled.

 

·                                 Judd Parks – Director: Club 20 Racing started on October 10th with four heats being completed before high winds ended racing for the day.

 

BUSINESS ITEMS

 

  • Jerry Holcomb – Requested feedback from club members with regard to continuing the current practice of having electric events every year. After some discussion, it was concluded that the club should continue the events.

 

·         Ed Bailiff – President: The FPM Board of Directors held a meeting on October 7th to discuss year-end issues. Decisions were made on the following agenda items:

 

Agreed to renew the club’s CD with Chase Bank at a rate prevailing on 10/10/09 for a term of 13 months.

 

            Agreed not to purchase a second CD at this time due to possible upcoming field expenses.

 

            Instructed the FPM Secretary to arrange a meeting with the club’s IMAC special interest group

            to discuss flight paths used by club members practicing for IMAC competitive events.

 

            Agreed to replace the walkway crossing the ditch and to relocate the dirt removed from the ditch  by the port. This effort will be accomplished at club expense.

 

            Agreed the weather covers, wind sock and frequency control board be centralized on the pit line and the southern most 2 tables moved to a new location.

 

            Approved an event request form to be used for requesting use of the field for special events.


 

 

 

BUSINESS ITEMS - CONTINUED

 

Opened the meeting for nominations of 2010 club officers – there were none. Therefore, the following recommendation for club officers was the made to the members present:

              

Inasmuch as there are no nominations for 2010 club officers from the members attending the September and October general membership meetings, the officers shown below volunteered to serve again as officers for 2010. All have approved presenting their names for consideration to the members attending the general membership meeting in October:

A motion was made to approve the officers shown above as the FPM officers for 2010. The motion was seconded and unanimously approved by the members present.

 

In accordance with the club bylaws, nominations for club officer positions can be made through the first week of November. The nominations must be in writing and directed to the club secretary.

 

SCHEDULED EVENTS

 

            *Training - 5PM each Tuesday, April 14 through October

                              *Club 20 Racing: November 14, December 12, January 9, February 13, March 13, and  April 10. Field set-up begins at 8:30am and racing starts at 10:00am.
