Phosphate in Food

I recently had someone e-mail asking a question about a problem they are having with a bobcat female. They said she had a urinary infection and the vet is concerned about crystals in her urine and said the crystals are ammonium & phosphate based. He talked about a special food that is phosphate free etc.

Does anyone have any input on this subject?

sugest that they check their water source as well. In New Mexico we had a lot of trouble with urinery problems because of the mineral content of the water
