All my repeaters transmit the PL tone used for receive so you can program your
radio on tone squelch and you will only hear the repeater. This is a good feature if you have local
interference or intermod.
History of the KB7APU repeater system.
I started out in amateur radio by taking a class from the Clark County Amateur
Radio club in 1986. That same year I earned my Novice license and by May of
1987 I earned my Technician license. During that time I was active with NW ELT
Team, a group of amateurs who mission was to direction find Emergency Locator
Transmitters. I was also active in the W7AIA club community service events.
After I got out of the Army in 1996, I became more active in amateur radio. I
joined the Amateur Radio Emergency Service group and continued my activities
with NW ELT. In 1998 I went in with Michael-W1OTW, we purchased the 443.975
repeater from Dave KJ7YG. In 1999 we installed it at the SW WA Med Center.
After several upgrades the repeater is working excellent. In 2000 I purchased
the 440.775 repeater. After having it located at different sites, it has found
