OCTM's Professional Development Cadre(PDC): With the adoption of Oregon's K-8 Core Standards for Mathematics and the continued work with the 9-12 Core Standards for Mathematics, how will classroom teachers learn about the new mathematics standards? OCTM Online Elections: For the first time ever, OCTM will be holding online elections. The Mar/Apr issue of TOMT gives the specifice information for how this will work. There are a number of Constitutional Changes that will need to be voted on as part of this election. The changes and rationale for why these changes are necessary can be found on the page that contains the current Constitution.

48th Northwest Mathematics Conference: The conference is being held in Whistler, British Columbia. The theme is Going for the Gold. It will be held Oct. 22-24, 2009.

ODE Website: Resources to support Oregon's Grade-level Standards Among the resources at this site is an opportunity to give feedback on the newest revision to Oregon's Mathematics Standards.

Illuminations: A valuable resource from NCTM, providing extensive internet resources to illuminate the Standards. Ready to use lessons showing best practices in teaching, video vignettes, Web resources, etc.

NCTM Focal Points: Choose this site to download a copy of the newly released Curriculum Focal Points documents. Also found on this site is a brief overview of this document synopsized by Cathy Brown and Jon Wiens. In addition, click here for letters to the editor that discuss the math community's response to recent articles that have been printed in the New York Times and Eugene's Register-Guard.
