Marvelous and memorable trips to the ski huts.
Several times a month in winter, and always on the major winter holidays, snowshoe/ski trips headed out into the Sierra.  The Sierra Club huts were popular and available:  a turkey with all the trimmings was generally the highlight meal of the trip.  Above is Patrick Sheible, age 11 months, approaching Peter Grubb hut.
Chess game in Peter Grubb hut by candlelight with homemade pieces.  Field mice and voles watched the games, too.
