DREW'S WEDDING - 9/28/02
(Last updated 3/18/03)

Drew and Tisha decided to get married in Tisha's home town, Tupelo, Mississippi - birthplace of Elvis Presley (left), who played guitar as a pre-teen with Tisha's grandfather, a country fiddler; the latest addition to Tupelo's Elvis Presley Center, a statue of Elvis at 13 (center) by the Dutch sculptor Michiel Van der Sommen; Tupelo was also the site of the last Civil War battle in the state (right)

The day before the wedding: after driving all morning, Drew (left) and BJ (right) finally get a chance to recover from Drew's bachelor party - spent sitting thru the Florida State/Louisville football game in the pouring rain

Drew (left) was definitely in need of a shave, but Tisha (center), relaxed and happy to see him after working all week on wedding preparations, didn't seem to care; Michelle, who'd been helping Tisha, was happy to be reunited with BJ as well (right)

Amy (left), Cameron (center), and Scott, Amy's new husband (right), made it into town just in time to attend the wedding eve rehearsal dinner

Tisha's father Charles (left), mother Nona (center), and stepfather Harold (right), who performed the wedding ceremony

Tisha's friend Koren (left), one of the bridesmaids; Tisha's cousin Deana (center), the maid of honor; and Tisha's nephew Cole (right), one of the groomsmen

The day of the wedding: Tisha and ladies pose for the photographer before the ceremony

Drew and the groomsmen get their turn with the photographer

Family and friends gather in a beautiful setting under the trees...

...including Tisha's maternal grandmother Mary Bess (left), Papa (center) - who made the trip with flying colors, and the groom, arriving in a golf cart (right) like many of the other guests

The bride arrives (left), Tisha and Drew exchange vows (center), everyone cries, and the ceremony ends with the traditional kiss (right)

Afterwards, the entire wedding party assembles for more pix

Tisha and Drew manage a "private" moment together (left) before they have to head to the reception to participate in traditional activities like cake cutting (right)

Finally, some multi-generational pix round out the day - Drew and Tisha, with her dad and paternal grandmother (left), and with Papa and me (right)
