was honored to be invited to participate in the 11th annual Pacific Rim Wildlife Art Show which included over 120 of the finest artists in the wildlife art field.
Participants and guests were stopped in their tracks by the antics of the Sanctuary's cats caught on video, and
the photo displays prompted many comments and questions about the Sanctuary from visitors to the booth.

The carved ostrich eggshell display was most intriguing,
and the look of wonderment on the faces peering across
the table was very rewarding to me, as the artist of these
unique, one-of-a-kind creations.

show, generously donated one of her new prints, "On Watch" (Snow Leopard Cubs) to be raffled off as a fund raiser, to help feed the eighteen cats who currently reside atWild Ones Sanctuary. Lindsey picked the winning ticket at the close of the show Sunday evening. The lucky recipient of this wonderful print (my personal favorite, right after the napping bobcat in, "Soft Repose", of course) is Hazel Bellinger of Poulsbo, WA. |
Congratulations Hazel, I know you will
really enjoy this print! Thanks to all those wildlife art enthusiasts who purchased
raffle tickets, and to Lindsey Foggett for making the raffle
happen. The cats will be eating turkey drums compliments of
you this week!Be sure to keep your eye on future
works by Lindsey. You might just see one
of the cats from Wild Ones Sanctuary as the
subject of an upcoming painting since Lindsey
is planning on a photo trip to the Sanctuary
in the future.
A "Special Thank You" is in order for three wonderful
people who made this whole trip possible:My mother, Betty Mellen, who provided live-in cat-sitting
services and fixed breakfast and dinner for my family of
seven Bobcats, five Canadian Lynx, four Siberian Lynx,
and two Servals for the four days I was at the show.My two very good friends Cheryl Tuller and
Debbie Walding who drove from Tigard, Oregon to
Brush Prairie, Washington every day to deliver the
food to the cats, give them fresh water, and clean cages
(Cheryl says, so that my work wouldn't pile up
while I was gone).
